MEMA
My hands have been in the soil planting seeds for as long as I can remember. When my husband and I started a family in 2024, my purpose became crystal clear: I am here to bring people back to the garden.
My compulsion for building gardens is rooted in the lifestyle, where the sun warms our skin and our feet sink into the earth, gardening as a lifestyle opens a life rich in connection, vitality, and continual transformation.
With 17 years of experience in the biological sciences and hands-on work across diverse ecosystems, I’ve learned to read plants and their needs in various climates. Along the way I’ve gathered a plethora of techniques and subtle rituals that help gardeners—and their gardens—flourish.
Expirence
7 years MRAZ family farm, Oceanside, CA
a subtopical coffe and avocado paradise located in my hometown of San Diego,on this farm I seasonally pruned 15 acres of fruit trees with a hand saw and a ladder, and after a few years i started building and maintaining year rounf edible food gardens that fed everyone on the farm!
6 years Trident Lightning Farms, Humboldt, CA
a 1oo acre certified organic fruit farm in northern california. a land dripping with all the temperate fruit you could imagine, I drove tractors disking fields, sold fruit at the farmers markets and pulled hundreds of thousands of weeds along the way.
Moro Hills Botanical Library
on the top of an ocean view hill is a private property owned by a dear friend who opened their land to crating a botanical library of rare and delicous edible plants that were collected along my global botanical studies. this one acres plot was transformed from a weedy dead avocado orchard into a bountiful and beautiful food forest over flowing with flowers and scrumptious berries.
Mar Vista Urban Homestead
In two phases I worked with homeowners to transform 1/2 of their one acre property into a diverse food forest of rare edible delicacies and in phase two after building their new house, i designed and installed a farm style line up of ample garden beds for the client who “wants to grow all their own food” I brought in mountains of a proprietary soil blend that transformed this blank slate into a thriving and abundantly producing garden in a matter of a few months!
Hawaiian flower garden
While on vacation on the slopes on Mauna Kea where the soil is thick and rich, I single handedly cleared a wild grassy plot and created an expansive flower garden for a client. I utilized resources available on the land like animal manure and wood chips to fertilize and accentuate the walking paths. The space being right out the clients front door elevated the whole property, and offered plenty of space to grow.
Hawaiian Food Forest
In my last years of undergrad at the University of Hawaii Hilo I worked on my most radical project yet. Building soil and growing vegetables on pure lava rock with only what was available to me on the land was an incredible learning experience. in 1.5 years I learned what it took to chop down the jungle and using accelerated composting techniques, transform that material into fertile productive soil.
Fallbrook Market Garden
For these clients, I shaped and sculpted a neglected avocado orchard on a hillside into a thriving and bountiful market garden. In the alchemy of beautifully sandy soil and local organic manure, this 1 acre high diversity “mini farm” took off in a matter of 120 days and in no time we were selling produce to the prestigious Specialty Produce of San Diego..
Stylish Raised Bed Garden
Homeowners were looking for a stylish and neat approach to adding face value to their front yard garden, so we built some custom redwood boxes and added a few corregated steel raised beds as an accent. With hidden drip irrigation, their previously overgrown yard was transformed into a edible gardeners paradise!
Easy access Garden
My clients for this project were very interested in accessibility for their elder years in the garden, so we built extra tall garden beds with a shelf around the rim for sitting on, and additionally surrounded the garden with wheelchair accessible turf.
