Photographs, measured notes, and a preliminary sketch to capture opportunities and constraints.
Presentation of next steps and customized proposal; site visit and mock-up fee applied to the overall design cost but is non-refundable.
Concept Design & Tailored Plan of Action
Concept Development: Two to three refined garden concepts reflecting your priorities—composition, plant palette, material choices (paving, edging, lighting, water features), and a mood board that aligns with the M E M A E A R T H aesthetic.
Site-Specific Planting Plan: Native and climate-appropriate selections prioritized for San Diego conditions—drought-tolerant, pollinator-friendly, seasonal interest, and therapeutic scents for wellbeing.
Hardscape & Irrigation Plan: Scaled drawings and specifications for patios, paths, retaining elements, raised beds, structures (pergolas, benches), and a water-wise irrigation layout tied to local codes and smart controllers.
Detailed Cost Estimate: Line-item pricing for all elements—materials, plant palette, labor, equipment, permits if required, and contingency—so you know exactly how your investment is allocated.
Timeline & Phasing: Clear schedule outlining procurement, demolition (if needed), installation windows, and weather contingency. Phasing options available for larger projects.
Client Approval & Contract
Final design presentation with revisions incorporated.
Execution contract that names the installation team (your team or ours), payment schedule, and responsibilities. All projects are performed for San Diego residents only.
Permits and inspections are coordinated as needed; permit fees are quoted separately.
Professional Installation (your team or our recommended team)
Site Preparation: Selective removal of existing elements, grading, soil amendment with organic matter, and erosion control where necessary.
Hardscape Construction: Precise installation of paving, edging, walls, and structures by licensed craftsmen; attention to drainage and long-term durability.
Irrigation & Lighting: Installation of efficient irrigation systems with zones and smart controls; low-voltage lighting for safety and ambiance.
Planting & Finishing Touches: Professionally staged planting with root-care best practices, mulch application, and installation of decorative elements (containers, garden art, water features).
On-site Management: Project managed by me—single point of contact who coordinates crews, suppliers, inspections, and quality control; regular progress updates and walkthroughs with you during key milestones.
Post-Installation Handover & Care
